Advanced Education (DAE) designations.
Advanced Communication Skills
This course focuses on how to write an informative and
interesting speech to grab your audience and hold their
attention plus how to deliver the speech effectively by
understanding your audience and using appropriate body
language. Learn how and when to use visual aids as well
as how to use the group dynamic to interact with your
audience. Know how to comfortably deal with the
unforeseeable technical difficulty, the annoying
heckler, or ringing cell phones.
Cyber Crime
This program was written exclusively for the National
Association of Insurance Women (Int’l) by JerryHargrove,
JD, CIC, SCLA, FCLA, PICS, LICS who was a national
CyberCrime panelist at the 2003 NAIW National
Convention.
The rapid advance of technology has changed the way all
commerce is carried out. Tasking,
communications,electronic data interchange (EDI) of
business information, manufacturing and engineering
sciences have all become more efficient because of
electronic commerce. The paradigm (box of conventional
wisdom) shift brought on by the swift change in
technology has outpaced the talent pool of workers, the
judicial system and the insurance industry. This course
explores the exposures of CyberCrime (CyberRisk), the
gaps in conventional insurance products in an electronic
environment and the solutions for managing the risks.
Underwriting for Non-Underwriters
This program covers underwriting issues and decisions in
the personal lines, commercial lines, workers
compensation, life/health and surety bond fields.
Answers the question, "What do underwriters need to
know, and why?" Can be completed as a group or
self-study. Certificate of completion included.
How to Be a Best Seller
Series of sessions designed to help women enhance their
sales skills by improving their organization, time
management, decision making, goal setting, and other
vital business abilities. Concludes with exam. Trainer's
guide contains all the material in the student's guide,
plus outline for conducting the sessions and
transparencies. Can be completed as a group or
self-study Certificate of completion included.
Rules of the Road
A seven-hour program (including lunch break) using
exercises and role plays to discuss excellent customer
service practices: the importance of customer service;
why preparation and individual commitment are important;
how to deal with customers' feelings as well as the
facts; conducting effective, efficient customer
interactions, and how to successfully handle angry,
irate and irrational customers. The facilitator's guide
includes detailed outlines for facilitating groups of
more than 15, groups of less than 15, and a two-hour
version for conferences. Also includes overheads. Can be
completed as a group or self-study. Certificate of
completion included.
Mentors and Protégés: Sharing for Mutual Rewards
Series of eight sessions to assess need for and
qualifications to become a mentor. Includes history and
purposes of mentoring; descriptions of several formal
mentoring programs; information about the benefits,
responsibilities and concerns for mentors/protégés;
describes NAIW and mentoring; and lists the steps in
establishing a formal mentoring program. Also includes
self-assessment tools, discussion questions and quotes
about mentoring by NAIW members who have been in
mentoring relationships. Facilitator's guide includes
all the above, plus a detailed outline for conducting
the sessions. Certificate of completion included.
Leadership Development Program
Series of eight workshop sessions designed to examine
the art of leadership and suggest ways the student can
develop or enhance leadership skills. Participants first
review current business theory regarding leadership
styles and characteristics. Then, using the Personal
Strengths Assessment Audit, the participant learns about
her strengths and weaknesses in 12 key making, mentoring
and leading change. Certificate of completion included.
Life Insurance for CSR's
A basic education of life insurance products for
insurance professionals. The course covers topics such
as developing the right attitude, understanding your
companies' life insurance products, riders and optional
benefits, completing a life application, NAIC model
illustration regulation and basic legal issues. CPIW/M
qualifying course.
Leadership Savvy
Leadership Savvy is a 10.5 hour program that
explores leadership. It examines not only
leadership skills but gives you the
opportunity to look at individuals who
posses excellent leadership characteristics.
